BioMedETC: R3volution Beyond Science
BioMedETC – Biomedical Science in Entrepreneurship, Technology and Commercialisation will be BioMedKL’s flagship event. Aiming to offer beyond “conventional scientific event”, BioMedETC offers training on critical communication & collaboration skills, new thought process for problem solving and know-how in commercialisation for science discoveries. BioMedKL believes these are skills and learning opportunities that do not fall under normal academic syllabus. Hence, this event is dubbed the acronym ETC which also means “et cetera” or "and other things" biomedical science researchers should know. We are now gathering the experts in communication, ideation and commercialisation to come forth and speak to biomedical scientists who are keen in learning new skills, networking with other scientists and wanting to make a science breakthrough.
By definition, "Scientific Revolution" refers from historical changes in thought & belief, to changes in social & institutional organisation. Many countries experienced scientific revolution in different stages. From Europe's scientific revolution of theories and culture that occurred during between 1550-1700, until China's scientific revolution which right now, in terms of research spending and the number of scientific papers published, stands only behind the United States.

We believe that Malaysia is in need of a scientific revolution to take science to a higher level and push the boundaries of science itself. Therefore, this year, our 3rd BioMedETC's main theme is: Revolution, Beyond Science, Beyond Boundaries. It is time for us to go into the future, and experience what's in store for in the context of Malaysian scientific community!
